Re: Bass friendly stores in Sydney?

The shop in Crows Nest -- Big Music? -- seemed to have a lot the day I was there. Wild Horse is always shut when I go past. Presumably Allan's is still open. There are Guitar shops in Annandale and Pete's Music Mart in Newtown for secondhand. There's a Fender specialist in the city but nomidea if th...

Re: Company which will cut pickguard material?

I have found a cutter in Marrickville. Will let everyone know how it went in a week or two.

Re: Company which will cut pickguard material?

That would require tools ... and my other half doesn't like me buying tools (must make him feel inadequate).

Re: Company which will cut pickguard material?

I asked Matt last year and he suggested finding a friendly plastic fabricator.

Company which will cut pickguard material?

I have some 2mm pickguard material I need cut into a filleted rectangle approx 100mm x 54mm to cover a pickup cavity. Can anyone recommend someone in the Redfern-ish area? I tried a laser cutting service in Alexandria but they won't cut customer supplied material. https://www.talkbass.com/media/orvi...

Walk around to the loading dock or the back laneway and you'll probably find plenty in their rubbish area
I'll have you know I'm a very respectable Kat, not some trashy alley Kat.

Might ask them later.

Re: Gigbag for a 50" long bass.

Thanks. I'm 5 minutes walk from the last Allans standing but they never have boxes ... or anything else for that matter. When I picked up the Epi from Allans Parra, it took them the best part of an hour to find a half way suitable box.

Re: Gigbag for a 50" long bass.

Sorry to hijack, but can anyone recommend somewhere to get a good longish shipping box for a bass?

My Epi Thunderbird needs to go up on eBay.

Unicorn (4005) sighting

I'm not buying or selling this (it's not a Thunderbird) but I did notice this on eBay. It's In Alexandria. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/1979-Rickenbacker-4005-Bass/302430346153?hash=item466a40dba9:g:~tQAAOSw9GhYkd1q This came about because I thought I had spotted a 4005 hanging up in Pete's Musicians...

Congrats on your latest Bird too, Kat.
Taken after installing the 1966 repro pickup. The nickel has subsequently been polished up and it's looking even prettier.

FS: 2011 Epiphone Thunderbird IV $600 ONO - pickup Redfern

2011 Epiphone Thunderbird IV $600 - pickup Redfern (I won't ship without a HSC). I'm selling to make room after a recent purchase. This Bird started life as a T-Bird PRO IV with active electronics, which all sounded like soggy cardboard. It has been entirely gutted, rewired and chromed with $500 wor...
