If a pollie goes on mentioning his scape-goat group, then he is playing that particular card whether it be Bikies or Eskimoes. But if he is mentioning it only in context of (say) problem gangs that do exist, ...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

David Leyonhjelm suggests that "normal Australians call people bitches, bastards, shut up, various things of that nature" I'm pretty glad I don't live around these so-called 'normal' Australians he is referring to. http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-07-04/david-leyonhjelm-defends-comments-sarah-hanson...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

lock people up ..... they seem broken afterwards. It's true that people are affected by incarceration. But I don't think there's any reason or evidence to show that if you went in fine, you could came out as a threatening child molester. Otherwise our gaol system would be turning out a lot of the s...

Also that wasn't the answer she gave when asked the question this morning- she chose to avoid the question. I dunno bloke...she's not even sure where she lives and there are all these journos asking her questions and wanting to know her thoughts on sleeping with staff members and it's all a bit too...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

Largely because the Nat Leader is often the Deputy PM and at times Acting PM. The PM has to elected by the House of Reps, so you don't typically get a Senator replacing them.

More dirty laundry. "Therefore I find it surprising that a federal issue has so much momentum in the West when people in the east in the National Party have in the majority a different view — and to be quite frank, vastly more skin in the game." http://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-02-20/barnaby-joyce-l...

Re: Your FAVOURITE and LEAST FAVOURITE Aussie Songs ??

Had to go with two of each. Best. Cattle and Cane, the Go-Betweens, and My Island Home by Warumpi Band Such a hard choice. I'm going with songs that I'd use to illustrate an Aussie sound and perspective to people from overseas. Special Mention....Am I ever going to see your face again, Angels. Worst...

Oh come on! The day the conscience arguments stack up is .... the day lawyers start refusing to represent people who appear guilty, Look...it's really important we are all clear on this issue...no one is guilty of anything until all the appeals processes are exhausted...cool? Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

If that were to occur, would the outcome be that Pence becomes President? Or is he gone too because he benefitted from the Trump campaign? He's likely, pending any questions that he personally was involved, to be ignored. Despite the endemic corruption of the Nixon administration, Ford was able to ...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

It is this task of getting both parents to stay together for the sake of any children so conceived by their union that the institution of marriage came about. As American political scientist James Q. Wilson expressed it, “Marriage is a socially arranged solution for the problem of getting people to...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

"as if that's possible" It was spoken as part of an obvious logical fallacy. But it is kind of an interesting point. You could say, if someone at a later stage in life began indulging in homosexual activity, did they become homosexual at that point, or were they 'latent' homosexual their whole life...
