Re: Clean Bass Preamp recommendations

Now that I'm here, I'm wondering whether my Bergantino 12 inch speaker (CN112) would be manifestly different from running a 210 cab (CN210). A cab with a horn would greatly improve your slap tone :-) I just got the MXR M81 Preamp/D.I. Im gonna try it out tonight. If it kicks butt I'll let you know....

... I will never build a parts bass ever again he he OUCH! That's why I don't build parts basses. However, well done for finishing it. And you finished it properly. With everything you've learned, you're probably ready to join the rest of us luthiery tragics. ;) That is a good call, and with the re...

Re: NBD! Well not yet - Just gotta wait a little longer...

So I think its finally done. Got a late 80s Warmoth Maple Jazz neck for it which is unbelievable for such an old neck bur its just awesome so combined with the Aphekgreg pickups, the passive wiring and the Hipshot bridge, its a proper beast. The action is so low and without any buzzy bits and it pl...

Re: What is the frequency range if the ....

Which amp? Google search "EQ frequency plot graph (brand) (model)" Ah in this case it's a Markbass Big Bang. I really like the Low Mid on that amp and Im considering getting a preamp/D.i> that has a sweepable mid but if it cant replicate the same or similar frequencies as the Markbass I might not b...

Love the little Yeah/Nah switch - what does it do?
Oh yeah it's a passive mute. Im OCD about not leaving my active bass plugged in during breaks and I HATE the sound of the amp when you unplug/plug it in... I used to use the tuner to mute but there was no room :-)

Re: What to do when the supplied backline is a bit... meh...

yeah cool! I've built a little pedal board that helps with my own rig but should be pretty adaptable with other rigs. Just a cheapo EQ for now but might get a decent pre or Bass EQ sometime in the future... So far the EQ is a HUGE help especially with shitty rooms where I normally cant get a decent ...

Who uses a sealed 410?

Im curious as to how these sealed 410s sound. Im borrowing a rear ported Sovtek 410 at the moment and whilst is has a lot of low end, I find the articulate and clear sound that I get from my 1210 cannot be replicated through this thing. I hear the sealed 410s have better punch and articulation but n...
