Re: Options for posting basses

I posted a bass no gig bag using Pack and Send. I packed it using a bass box from a music shop and registered it online, all up was about $45 Brisbane to Melbourne.

Re: Tube Amps

I love the idea but am under no delusion I would buy a new amp anytime soon. However, I hope others do and it's successful.

Re: Bass friendly stores in Sydney?

Brisbane's got nothing much either. I know the feeling. The best stores I have found here is Guitar Brothers (stocks Fender, Yamaha, Cort, Xotic and second hand ) on Latrobe Tce and Music Express (Fender, EBMM, Spector, Warwick) in Mt Gravatt. Tym Guitars is great for second hand basses and effects...

Re: The Fender JMJ Mustang has landed - now with photos

If you are concerned about the pickups it might be worth measuring the DC resistance and sending it to Seymour Duncan to see if it's in spec

Re: CBS era Fender, the real story

That was a good read. Late 80s and early 90s Japanese Fenders are probably my favourite in terms, they are starting to get expensive now too.

Re: Does anyone have a BAER cab in Brisbane I can try?

LowGroove may be able to help. PM him to try his. I'm considering a couple of Berg cabs or a Berg 610 to match my Bamp but holding back. (not really a great excursion these days once you leave the madness of overgrown Brisbane) Low Groove did offer however I already bought an SWR 4x8 so no need for...

Re: Post your rigs - PART TWO

Kind of new rig day this week. Got my GK700RBII out of storage - I haven't used it in years. I have been looking at cabs, tried pretty much everything I could find in stores sub $1000 and walked away with an SWR 4x8. Sounds good to me, not quite as articulate as the Rumble 115 A/B'd it with but the...

Search is off, thanks to those who contaced me. I ended up with a SWR Henry Jr 4x8, it's a cool can and the price was good.

Re: Lightweight versatile bass smp

How much do you want to spend? On the cheaper side the Fender Rumble 500 is great. The higher end the Aguilar Tonehammer 500 is very warm sounding.

Fender Rumble cabs are cheap, good sounding and relatively light.

I really like JMJ and that bass is mint. Funny the resurgence in short scale basses, 10 years ago I don't think you could give one away.

I did see that Pete, unfortunately won't have much time in the next few weeks for that kind of excursion.

Does anyone have a BAER cab in Brisbane I can try?

Hi All,

In my search for a new cab I am very tempted by the BAER ML115 George @ BGD has for sale second hand. I am little cautious buying cabs without having played them. So does anyone have a ML112 or ML115 in the greater Brisbane area I could demo?

Re: WTB: Bass Cabs

I am using a GK 700RB, my normal style is hard rock/metal (more on the Metallica/Tool side of metal than the extreme side), at the moment I am playing mainly blues. The cabs around the upper end of the budget I would want something I could use with most bands. Ok the lower side of the budget somethi...
