Re: Fancy Neck Woods?

If I was buying for myself the three necks I would be looking at are:

1) Roasted Maple
2) Wenge
3) Status Graphite

Based on what you said I think roasted Maple would be the closest to what you want.

Re: are nut slot hieights misunderstood?

I've always worked on fret the second fret and the string should just clear the nut. Any good luthier should file the nut to the correct height as part of the setup.

Re: Who is obsessive about their coffee??

My understanding is that the features of the
machine and quality of the coffee produced is excellent. Just don't expect it to last 10+ years like an Italian machine.

So far I am in love with this machine.

Re: Who is obsessive about their coffee??

My old Sunbeam cafe Crema finally died the other week. Upgraded to a Breville Dual Boiller - so far this thing is fantastic. Got all the features I was after - measured shots, steam and pull shots at the same time. Also got it for a great price brand new with 5 year extended warranty (I am expectin...

Re: Small lightweight combo recommendations?

The Fender Rumble series is quite light and reasonably cheap. Not sure how it goes on upright.

Re: Advice on Qantas Frequent Flyer points...

I have flown a heap for work and have used points to go to Europe twice and USA once. I also did like you and signed up for a new CC and then once I got the bonus points I cancelled. Tip for booking flights - the best use is to book "Classic Rewards" fairs. These cost significantly less than paying ...

Re: HELP - No sound from my rig :(

Success! Tried it with an effects pedal loop and sound it back. Now it's also through direct input and back. Maybe it was the mute switch and I didn't even see it ! Thanks guys. Good to hear. You can also put a little bit of contact cleaner on a jack and insert and remove a few time in the FX loop ...

Re: HELP - No sound from my rig :(

Stupid question, is the mute switch on the GK? Also try running a patch lead in the fx loop as these a notorious for causing issues on GKs.

Is my compressor functioning correctly?

Hi all, I have a MXR Bass compressor M87 and I like it however it seems to function differently from what I would expect. With the ratio knob set to 4 it sounds like it's compressing the signal more than with the knob set to 20. This also seems to be backed up by the gain reduction LEDS, more light ...

Re: Guitar sound with pedals

I imagine a POG 2 through dirt would also be good. Gives you the flexibility to add octave up as well as the 5th to simulate power chords.

Maybe corrosion in output plug? When you unplugged and re-plugged the speaker cable it maybe cleaned it.
