Re: Health Goals for 2017

On that basis it's looking like I've kicked cancer's butt. We need to start a club. Excellent news mate. Any after-effects? Thanks Pete and the others who commented. I'm thankful we got this early and treatment was relatively straightforward for this type of cancer. My only "after effects"...

Re: Health Goals for 2017

I had an appointment with my endocrinologist on Saturday so we could review the PET scans that were done 2 days after I swallowed the nuke on 7 June - the scans show where the radiation from the I-131 capsule settled in my body. On 9 June there was a "very small" area of thyroid tissue re...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

^ If it is, we are already there- George Brandis (our chief law officer) secret Vatican visit with George Pell while Pell is to be a witness at a Royal Commission and, as it turned out, under investigation himself. I'd venture to say, that we've been there for likely as long as there have been poli...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

^there are two ways this could have gone... 1) apologies accepted, and everyone walks away from this ... 2) contempt charges pursued and a great big, smelly can of worms is opened... right or wrong, the path of expediency was taken (as is the norm). rest assured, however, these 3 ministers now have...

^on the other hand, if they DON'T go light on the ministers they could be seen as being politically motivated against the LNP. It's a no-win/no-win situation; spurred on by irresponsible media and realised by the irresponsible actions of 3 rather unwise ministers.

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

Ever wondered what happened to the Government's long awaiting Bill to tackle blatant and illegal worker exploitation of the type uncovered in some big franchise employers several years ago? Well have a read. They got busy lobbying the Government to do nothing. http://www.theage.com.au/federal-polit...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

^It isn't surprising that the Franchise Council would be lobbying against the bill. In fact, it should be expected. That doesn't make them right, it just would be their position not to have further legislation in the matter. I'm also not surprised that Michaelia Cash is stalling the debate whilst t...

Re: What do you use to record snares?

cheers guys. I hear good things about Audix too. I have a Senny e602 kick/bass cab mic, ended up also getting a Shure Beta52a to try. I have a theory about micing cymbals. I'm not going to. They come thru just fine ambiently via the snare and tom mics. They always sound too loud compared to the res...

Re: Health Goals for 2017

Had my best 5k park run yesterday ... 28:57 ... I know it's slow , but after 20 runs, it's only my 4th time under 30mins and first time under 29 ... Legs are sore today, though ... usually they aren't ... :) Because of the cool weather (I'm attributing this to the weather, anyway), my running is im...

Re: Learning to drive manual

We won't be driving cars in ten years time. I've been hearing that since I was 15. I'm now 44 and guess what? :) sticking your head in the sand won't make driverless cars go away. They are not a future nightmare, they are here now. We even have a trial here in Adelaide. now, ROCKET JETPACKS, I been...

Re: Learning to drive manual

For the record, I just purchased a new car ... since my daughter is 15, my wife insisted that it be a manual so that we have a proper "training vehicle", so that she can get an unrestricted licence straight-up... I really wanted an auto (quite tired of driving manuals for the last 16 year...
