Re: the MOVIE REVIEW thread

^Odd Couple = Great movie! The 70's TV series with Jack Klugman and Tony Randall was superb! The modern TV series is not as good, IMO. Just saw "Wonder" in the theatre with Owen Wilson and Julia Roberts... for a feel-good, family-oriented movie with a message, I recommend... Very good job of charact...

Re: Rant Thread !

I had to leave work early today... my eldest had surgery this week and was away with wife and when wife came home, she had to go to work... anyway... I brought some work home... discoveries... 1) Bring work home, but only bring it for ONE thing... more than one is a distraction ... 2) NEVER have a w...

^Dilbert depresses me... everything is so close to the bone...

Just today...

Me: "I am overwhelmed."
Manager: "I know that there is a lot of work on at the moment, but it's good. It's a positive. We are identifying things as an opportunity for improvement."

True story!

Has anyone else noticed how many journalists and broadcasters have trouble pronouncing "citizenship". Even someone as politically savvy as Patricia Karlelas on ABC seems to say "cissssenship".

And don't get me started on Ita Buttrose :)

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

On the subject of "foreigners"... food for thought. Does anyone feel it's right for someone who lives in one electorate to be able to be elected and represent a different electorate? I realise that it's not the same as being a dual citizen... But there still, IMO, exists a similar "conflict of inter...

Re: Rant Thread !

Over the course of the last 3 years, we have gone from having 6 electrical engineers across the site to two. And the other EE has only been here for 3 months, so he's still quite green. My duties have expanded tremendously, and the amount of work that I have now on my plate is overwhelming. I'm not ...

Re: Who is obsessive about their coffee??

If I could afford being obsessive, I probably would be ... but since my machine of 14 years died 3 years ago, I’ve not been inclined to replace it with anything spectacular ... and I find bean grinding just too time-consuming ... In addition, I actually went decaf for several years (back to regular ...

Fretless works best when it’s strong mids and not scooped in tone ...

For this reason , 60s position

Re: Rant Thread !

Do you want my G string? (Wouldn't want to hear that outside a bass forum) :D Wasn't there some GTG pics getting around at one stage where someone had described a particular pic to his wife as "This is me holding Mike's Dingwall", to which she replied "Oh dear, please never say that again!". 8/ You...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

No it's about breaking the law. Colluding with a foreign government to influence an election in the USA. Also - lying about breaking the law. exactly... law breaking on all sides in all ways possible... hillary and trumpy both know that they're both crooked, but they keep insisting on deflecting to...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

doesn't anyone find it ironic that an elected official is in trouble because of the way in which they discovered that the opponent was crooked? I wonder, if Hillary had been elected and this would have come to light, would have been swept under the carpet as to not tarnish the rep of the standing pr...

If anybody is interested in why the latest Trump charges are a big deal: https://twitter.com/SethAbramson/status/925115577190010880 The information about Papadopoulos has actually been floating around a while. So far, there's nothing really "new", only the report that he may have worn a wire for Mu...
