Re: Jazz bass bridge PU position - 60s or 70s?

Fretless works best when it’s strong mids and not scooped in tone ...

Re: Rant Thread !

Do you want my G string? (Wouldn't want to hear that outside a bass forum) :D Wasn't there some GTG pics getting around at one stage where someone had described a particular pic to his wife as "This is me holding Mike's Dingwall", to which she replied "Oh dear, please never say that again!". 8/ You...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

No it's about breaking the law. Colluding with a foreign government to influence an election in the USA. Also - lying about breaking the law. exactly... law breaking on all sides in all ways possible... hillary and trumpy both know that they're both crooked, but they keep insisting on deflecting to...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

doesn't anyone find it ironic that an elected official is in trouble because of the way in which they discovered that the opponent was crooked? I wonder, if Hillary had been elected and this would have come to light, would have been swept under the carpet as to not tarnish the rep of the standing pr...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

If anybody is interested in why the latest Trump charges are a big deal: https://twitter.com/SethAbramson/status/925115577190010880 The information about Papadopoulos has actually been floating around a while. So far, there's nothing really "new", only the report that he may have worn a wire for Mu...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

Another Michaelia mess. This story that takes a long overdue shot at the COALition's privatised $7B job service (ie not Centrelink which does the social security payments). The problems and inefficiencies are well known, as are the link's between the big players and the Liberal party. We all know t...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

This could explain why Donald Trump is referred to as one of the most talented golfers of US presidents (he reportedly used to be a 4 handicap).... Barack Obama's handicap is apparently "classified" :D, but those who have played with him said he is GOOD! I remember seeing a video somewhere of Obama...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

I reckon we saw Turnbull on the brink of cracking yesterday- shortest press conference ever from him, took one question and then ran away, he didn't cover some important details that needed to be covered and he refused to go on 7.30 last night. I don't blame him - he's probably thinking the low sal...

Seems Newman and I agree on something. https://www.brisbanetimes.com.au/politics/queensland/nicholls-can-t-be-premier-with-one-nation-campbell-newman-says-20171029-p4ywp7.html This is like agreeing with him that whales are larger than goldfish... It's pretty obvious... If LNP are going to gain seat...

Re: Tom's Headless 5 String Bass - #033

very cool, Phil! Love the headless SC design... love the electronics idea, too... As you know, burls are tricky to identify due to lack of characteristic grain patterns, but based on colour alone, I'd agree that it's walnut. And if you look at the grain radiating out next to the front pickup, it rea...

Re: Favorite Strings?

My experience with strings in a nutshell:

1... There are so MANY! And so many GOOD ones.

2... There are strings that sound FANTASTIC on some basses and not so great on others!

3... Try as many sets as you can (and sell me your reject sets CHEAP)
