Re: I Will Survive in G? I said No.

Good suggestions above including Pete's about potential difficulties arising if the goal is to make every band member 100% happy. Personally, I don't think there's anything special about the bass line in that song, the lyric and vocal performance is the main thing IMO (maybe that's an argument for t...

Re: Body vs Kit vs Build from blank

+1 to Greg's comment above, good points. Dissassembling and reassembling will teach you quite a lot about an instrument. After that, you could try soldering up a harness (used parts if you have them, or buy new, whatever) on a 3mm piece of mdf or cardboard. I started this way as a gigging bass playe...

Re: Silent practice query.

I usually play during the later hours of the night so don't want to make any noise. I plug into a mixer and audio interface connected to a PC (use an audio player on PC). Can play at any volume with no noise, all audio through the cans.

Re: Set neck vs Bolt on Whats the deal about tight neck joi

A little late into this conversation. If I were to ever buy another bass, especially for gigging purposes, I'd never buy one with a loose neck joint , unless I felt the effort to fix it was worth it 'cause I find most of them so easy to move the neck. One move and your tuning is out of whack. Some p...

It's a simple fix, I think it was just 2 wires that needed to be switched.

Re: Yammy RBX-750a de-active-ate?

Pete, is the reason they want to convert it to passive because of the battery issues? I helped a friend sort out the same issue on one of those basses a while back. I don't the details on hand but there should be fixes for this out there.

Yeah, you can hear the mids, definition and clarity. Compare this live vid with both Mark King and Larry Graham together (is that Larry's mid scooped eq?).

Re: That Mark King Tone?

A bit of a mix here on his tones using 2 different basses mentioned above. There's an interview too with some interesting info as an aside. Sound quality not that great on the first vid, but check out ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltw4Lt_W56g at 1:12 for better and fuller bass sound when compari...
