Re: Studio Monitor "Desk" Stands

Yeah, i reckon there`s something in that. I`m going to take my time, maybe look around Bunnings for some everyday solutions that could be transferred to a set of DIY speaker stands! I`ll post when i`ve got something.

Re: Studio Monitor "Desk" Stands

Hmm, thanks guys.. Might just go the foam route, vis a vis Clarke Rubber!

Rude_Mechanical: by decoupling, do you mean one on left and one on right?

Studio Monitor "Desk" Stands

Hello Low Enders! Revisiting my music hobby and bass playing. Have a set of KRKs 6" studio monitor stands placed on each side of desk. I'm fairly sure that my head and the two speakers need to be in an equilateral triangle for best monitoring. Problem is, I need to elevate the speaks about 5 inches ...

Oh, really? Inbox me if you like. I'd also be interested in it's weight.

Re: See you in a month...

I'm addicted to chocolate, moderately addicted to the 'net, not addicted at all to TV or video games... I MUST BE A WOMAN! 8| Are you addicted to drama? You're not a woman then :p In all seriousness, video games / technology should know it's place in all our lives. I was talking with a friend recen...

Re: SOLD! Brubaker NBS 5 'Xtreme' w/ OHSC

I still have occasional thoughts about this bass. I wonder who bought it and if they're happy with it? If it had wide string spacing, i'd be willing to hock what's left of my right kidney for it;).

Re: Contracts..

I'd agree with playing hardball with them. Depending on how professional they are and whether you think they are going to "make it" would influence how hard you go. But things you could do: - Jack up the % required, or take a flat % plus a flat fee per show (and include clauses about expenditure re...

Drum Teacher - Melbs inner east?

Hello. This is not bass-related, however, i'm on the hunt for a good (of course, good is a relative concept) drum teacher in Melbourne's inner east, around Prahran, St Kilda / East St Kilda, Caulfield, Elsternwick, Brighton areas. All styles, but i particularly prefer funk, jazz, non-rock styles. If...

FS: Markbass 15" Cab: 400w, 8ohm. $699

Quite lightweight, has a handle each side for carrying and has castor wheels installed (they can be removed) for easy transportation. It is an amazin...

Re: 1/2 hour for audition, is that normal?

30mins is enough time. They have hired a bass cab, so all you need to do is plug in your head, quick check of the tuning, turn up to a decent volume and nail the songs. I would spend less time worrying about time frames and what they are like and more time learning the audition material as best you...

Re: 1/2 hour for audition, is that normal?

Hey guys, I think everyone's right. I am used to longer auditions as i'm usually the one organising it for a band i was in recently. Some of your recounts bought back horror stories of bad drummers and guitarists playing off tabs, so thank you ;). In all seriousness though, i'm looking forward to it...

Re: 1/2 hour for audition, is that normal?

No it's not normal, its unrealistic. I haven't auditioned in an age but for me its always about getting to play together and seeing if there is a fit. Playing the stuff is less than half the requirement in a band for most of us here. If you're doing a session or pro gig then the rules are different...
