How long can strings be stored unused for, does age effect them ?
I'd say minimal, if any effect. Most certainly will last longer than having them on the bass and playing them ;) .

If you're totally paranoid you can always vacuum-seal them to avoid any chance of oxidation.

Re: Bass Strings Online closing down

Sucks.

Very happy with Jason's service, range and price of strings. Single source for everything, now it'll be different suppliers and higher prices.

Will try to get as many DR PureBlues (.040 - .120) sets as possible!!!

Michael

Re: The "Not a Slappa" build

....tick tock and the latest update. Sean's no longer building. Taken awhile but I've finally got the wood including rosewood fretboard plus truss and carbon fibre rods delivered from him. All sourced from Stewmac apparently. That was earlier this year and I've since picked up these Hipshot tuners ...

Re: WTB: Genzler 350 combo cover /case

Totally seconding TLC. Great quality, fast response, good price - my two BA12-3 cabs still look like new, the TLC covers haven’t missed a beat.

http://ets-hardware.com/tuning_forks.php?pic=9 check these out... Hi Pete, Yes, they’re high on my list but a must be made of “unobtainium”. Tom (our local ditributor) doesn’t have any, the ETS web site is not particularly helpful, and they don’t seem to be in stock anywhere I looked. No idea how m...

Re: Future Builds - Kinda Not Random

Finally finished (well, couple of fine tuning activities still required). Looks really "friendly" and understated, right? Well, it's something in sheep's clothing, and it's not just a wolf :D . Personal delivery in 2 weeks - I'm hoping to see a happy face. Anyway, with my setup strings (to get the n...

Re: NBD - Kermit Sauron (a.k.a. Reject)

Those Delano pickups I think are totally worth the money. They are by far my favourite. The bass looks stunning. Thanks, Pete, I’ve come to the conclusion that Delano pickups and the Nordstrand pre work together extremely well and will, use that combo exclusively unless there are very strong (custom...

I’ll be available from 10:30, 11-ish. Any news regarding the renovations, Tim? Hi Michael, we won't be starting till mid-Sept so the space is available. It depends on how many people want to come: It'd be comfortable for up to about ten people. Cheers, Tim That's fantastic, Tim. I doubt there'd be ...
