Re: Best set up suggestion

I had a similar thing dealt with along with a full setup at Wild Horse. only cost $90 and did a great job (esp since I'd tried to fix the problem with the loose tuner myself and messed it up  )

Re: Mastering the fretboard - not!

I've agonised over this too. I'm very much a pattern/shape guy, and stumbling on new fills and ideas when learning a new song that I'll reapply for others. I can't see it changing any time soon

Pity I just saw this. I've got my son's short scale jaguar bass taking up space at home

Re: Headphone amp for practice

These Vox headphones with built in amp sound as they are what you want and they sound great but are a bit flimsy https://www.musoscorner.com.au/vox-amplug-amphones-headphone-amplifier-bass?utm_source=google_shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwhcjVBRBHEiwAoDe5x7-sRqaIq6gL_8WOjYKwA6G6yKtrCuJPiQPQni-87bmdf7iD1Q1of...

Re: Squier VM Fretless Precision Bass

I've had an unhealthy obsession with these since they came out :) I briefly tied one at the Bass Centre when I was in Melbourne for a day. To be honest I was a little underwhelmed - partly because it was so light, and I have to admit I like a bass to feel reasonably substantial. I tried the fretless...

Re: Who is obsessive about their coffee??

If you are talking delonghi, I assume you are looking at an automatic machine? Personally I would be looking at a manual machine if you are looking for excellent coffee. Starting point for me would be the sunbeam twin thermo block EM7000 or what ever the current model is, or the Breville twin boile...

Re: Cricket 2017/2018

A lot of top order batsmen get a rough deal, eg Alex Doolan, Joe Burns (were' they really not up to it?) and Khawaja has been mucked around more than most. I hope Renshaw comes back - he hit a bad form slump at just the wrong time.

Re: Who is obsessive about their coffee??

Not quite obsessive but getting there. I sold my my cheap home espresso machine in a garage sale so have been making do with an aldi pod machine (the thing won't die s I can't replace it!) and old-school plunger. I'm looking to upgrade to a better espresso machine when I can afford it. Can any of yo...

Re: Countdown

Very Interesting to see Ed Kuepper playing bass with the Saints in '84 in last night's episode. I assumed he and Bailey didn't have anything to do with each other after the original line-up finished.

Re: How to start

I thought I might give this a bump with my own experiences. After quite a while of false starts., time-wasting and dead-end playing opportunities on gumtree, I stumbled on open mic nights as another alternative (I'd always thought of them as being more for singer/songwriters). I went to one at a loc...
