Re: Using a cab as hifi subwoofer

Sort of yes no - well, not for hifi anyway. Bass amp cabs usually have a controlled roll-off from 80Hz or so down - makes the cab smaller, and Fletcher-Munson kicks in to provide (some of) the missing 40Hz and up at gig volumes. For 'normal' hifi listening, subs cover the 40 to 100Hz or somewhere ne...

Stuff to try that aids healing both before and after (if you go down that path): - Vit E - expedites healing of scars, tissue in general (halved the size of one of my scars 19 months after the fact) - Magnesium - all our diets are deficient as our soils now are - essential mineral for muscles, (in p...

Children have nothing to do with marriage The state says it does: > If marriage never had anything to do with reproduction, would there be any reason for the government to be involved in regulating or rewarding it? >Sterility is the exception to the rule for heterosexual couples, while it is the no...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

"think of the children" is an after-the-fact red-herring Are you saying we shouldn't care about what children think? But you do say "largely dependant on the attitudes of the adults involved", which logically means that there are at least some children affected by adults being non-monogamous - so h...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

a number of small communities Sounds like an echo of ancient history - an almost tribal arrangement. Close-knit tribes are of course very strong socially, with each person having a very strong sense of self. Having said that, genetic bloodlines, inheritance and (in the case of the ancients) allianc...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

Humans are not naturally monogamous.
Arguably, but we do naturally want the best for our children, but children ultimately object if their parents are non-monogamous, and suffer accordingly - sort of a "human condition" situation for which we do have to make a choice.

Trump's rhetoric Well, why not just see for yourself? Here's a start: NSW Labor politician Greg Donnelly. Let me now give some advice to my Labor colleagues in Victoria. The Safe Schools program that the Victorian Government is imposing on public schools in that state is political poison. While it ...

overblowing this issue It is vast because of huge populations these days compared to ancient times, and the 'vast', is not so much in the direct percentage (running at 1.2% at present I'm told), but in said flow-on effects for the next generation - they are impacted in two ways: 1)children of SS-co...

exploitation of women This is just *one* ensuing issue, not new, but it feeds into and increases demand for practices banned in places like India Nepal, Thailand etc, what an ethical, heartbreaking minefield: Por, a corn picker from a town five hours south of Bangkok, keeps a photo of her surrogate...

in a "Nut"shell? Once something seen as 'normative barrier' is gone, then it opens the way for whatever is next. So marriage (being M-F)is there to set a standard for the time-proven method for including sexuality and procreation for the benefit of the the couple, and creating the ideal environment...

establish binaries yourself - fathers do this Complementary is not binary. Binary implies strict counter-division. There can be (is) a greater richness in biological complementarity such that describing it as binary is misdirecting. male/female dichotomy is not a given, not axiomatic It's not a dic...

Re: Political Coverage By the Media in Our Country - PART TWO

my research suggests that these binaries It's like that statement is a forest-and-trees thing - male/female are axiomatically what they are, which is complementary as an ideal. If you put your binary spectacles on, then you will see everything in terms of that. Some things will match your spectacle...
