Re: Blue Bass Owners Show Your Bass(es)!

I have had this blue bass for a couple of months now, Musicman Big Al 4sss. Apologies to the wife, but I've found a new soul mate

Re: NBD. Ibanez fanned fret

That doesn't actually cover a pickup lol, but in the transition from 4 to 5 I found that having it there has made it easier.

Re: NBD. Ibanez fanned fret

I have one of these, has become my main bass after many years of being a 4 string only player. I tune mine e to high c (or d to c with the added drop tuner). I didn't like the active electrics in mine and swapped it out for a Nordstrand one I scored off here.

I really like what you are doing here with the one instrument taking on two roles, sounds awesome.

....(as you can probably gather from my Markbass post I am on a similar quest, and reading through your post rekindled my interest)

Re: Any Markbass Evo 1 users/opinions?

Thanks for your the shop floor review Heath. I like the way you say that it's hard to make the amp sound bad. I think that unless you connect to the pc/mac software you won't get the best from what this amp can do. Slowlearner, the shred is strong in Billy and I like the pedal. I should say, and my ...

Re: Any Markbass Evo 1 users/opinions?

I downloaded the pc software for it and each channel has an effects list that includes a compressor, delay, reverb, envelope and a couple of others. A limitation I can see is that the effect parameters can only be adjusted if the amp is connected to the computer. The effect control on the head is on...

Any Markbass Evo 1 users/opinions?

I have been trawling the web for info on this dual channel Markbass amp, and while what I am reading has left me very interested I was wondering if anyone here uses or has tried one. Why am I interested? Lately I have been thinking of going down the road of bass amp and small guitar combo to blend c...

Re: Newcastle to Tassie by motorbike

I did two trips to Tassie back in the early 2000's before the wife and kids came along. The first time was by myself on an old Bandit 1200, with no plans and a week to explore. Except for the highway between Launceston and Hobart, all roads down there seem to be magic bike roads. Highlights for me ,...

Found thank you

Looking at doing a couple of upgrades to the Ibanez SRFF I have, and seeing what is available here before buying new. I want to change the preamp, anything out there not getting used. I am looking at a Glok 3 band so something along that sort of quality would be good, 3 or 4 band preferred. Also in ...

Looking for my old bass, Peavey Foundation S

I have been thinking about basses that I have moved on in the past, and which of the many on the long list I would like to see or possibly own again. I have narrowed it down to the Peavey Foundation S that I traded in at the Bass Player on Parramatta Rd Annandale in Sydney. I'm thinking the year was...

Re: Show yourself and your bass(es) - Part Two

The Gretsch sounds great, I am guessing there is a definite upright sound but not being an upright player I can't be sure. Just after the conversion to fretless I took it to practice and a few days later a quiet gig, and the other guys liked it, and I enjoyed that I can trust my ear to hit the notes...

Anyone Else A Crazy Scientist When It Comes To Modding

As I am posting in threads on this forum, I am starting to get the feeling that I do things a bit differently when it comes to how I approach modding my instruments. In a current post about a neck being too thick and how to thin it, I suggest that doing as I did, a handheld Dremel and pure luck that...
