Re: Jule Amps Monique 700

There is no requirement to like an amp you don't like. :) There is just a common misconception about those amps being class D. The F1 and some of the newer compact high power amps are class D.

Re: Jule Amps Monique 700

Little Mark is not class D. It is analogue power and switch mode power supply. There is huge aluminium heat sink inside it.

Re: Markbass Momark

The Markbass amp does not have the common pad switch for the input stage. They leave it up to you to check that you set the gain accordingly using the clip led as an indicator. When I do this then clipping is not a problem for me. The volume is controlled by the master. I have a momark too and it so...

Re: FS Markbass CMD121P $850

Good deal. It's got the full tone stack, not the cut down one they seem to put on some newer mini combos and the full 500 watt power section.

Re: Markbass Momark

It doesn't do overdrive, it's more just to add a a little character to the tone, not quite like a little mark tube, but it's not as bland as a little mark ohh so the gain stage still clips fairly early? the only downside to most markbass amp :( "Still" compared to what? The gain stage does go into ...

Quincy Jones tells us what he really thinks

In an unguarded interview with New York Magazine, Jones, 84, called The Beatles "no-playing motherf****ers", accused Jackson of plagiarism, and said modern pop music producers were "lazy and greedy". He even suggested he knew the identity of US President John F Kennedy's real killer. (The mobster S...

I think he's got a lot more debt than money. He does seem to have some impressive achievements though. That car in space is going to be iconic.

Combos do limit flexibility. You can get some very good second hand deals here if you look.

Re: Blind test: MusicMan StingRay 2004 vs Cort GB75JH

Cort are making some pretty decent basses. I haven't posted this on NBD yet.....but I did purchase a brand new Cort recently (not this model though). It was an absolute bargain IMO and a very unique and versatile bass. Cort have always made decent basses. The best production line ABG you can buy in...

Re: Blind test: MusicMan StingRay 2004 vs Cort GB75JH

I own both (Cort GB5, which I believe is the previous version). Plus I have a J on my Stingray. They both sound good to me. The MM Pickups are the main difference from what I can tell. The SD pickup is brighter than the Musicman one.
