Re: Sneaky's random builds log

That workbench looks inspiring to build guitars on, she's a beauty.
And the guitars look good too!

Re: I desperately need help with technique and don't know where to begin

Something I've just cottoned on to is humming or singing or even mouthing the notes as you play them. I'm far from having mastered this technique, but have found an improvement in my feel and flow across the strings. I run out of breath and lose it, but it certainly helps thinking about your playing.

Re: 10 albums you've listened to the most...

1. Nevermind - Nirvana - wore out the cassette in the car 2. RATM - self titled - still kicks today 3. Master of Puppets - Metallica - non stop metal madness 4. RHCP - Blood Sugar - all time 5. Seas Of Cheese - Primus - 26 years old and still play it regularly 6. 1 & 2 - Led Zep - bought these a...

Re: Post your favourite 90's songs...

That era had so many cool songs by great bands like Faith No More, Primus, Pearl Jam, Janes Addiction, Soundgarden, Pantera, Nirvana, Chilli Peppers, Skunkhour, Cruel Sea, Tool etc I reckon that this list will go for a loooooooooong time!

Re: Vulfpeck Joe Dart reddit Ask Me Anything

I'd never heard of Vulfpeck until this thread, so I checked em out on YouTube. I'm totally impressed by their musicianship and how much fun they seem to be having playing music. Yeah, Joe Dart sounds unreal on the bass too. Thanks for putting me on to some great new music. I'm gunna hunt down some o...

If no capo, a pencil fastened with an elastic band should do the trick.

Re: Post your Effects setup! (boards, racks, doowhackeys)

^ This is my first fuzz pedal so I have no reference to compare with other pedals, but I like this one. The big dial on top can go from mild, subtle fuzz to meaty sustained fuzz - nothing too harsh. There's smaller dials on either side for volume and intensity of fuzz. The box is big but I'm ok with...

FS: EBS Valvedrive $60

For sale is my EBS Valvedrive pedal. $60 + buyer pays postage. Full disclosure: It works but there is annoying crackle or hiss that comes on randomly. I like the vintage button the best cause I'm old school inclined. Graeme at Centauri Audio installed a new transformer and gave it a going over. I ha...

Re: How to take the finish off a bass?

Yeah with the Organoil they've added resins to the mix. You apply it with a brush or rag where the timber fibres will soak it up. After leaving it for a while to dry, you then polish it off with a clean cloth. The resins harden creating a lovely protective layer. The more applications the better the...

Re: How to take the finish off a bass?

I've had good results with Organoil - a rub on Danish oil from Byron Bay. With plenty of elbow grease and hard yakka, your body will come up a treat, last for ages and be easy to repair. Good luck.

Re: Why so little Aussie content? (pedalboards)

How is it a guy like Robert Keeley gain a considerable reputation in the pedal world?
There are hundreds of guys doing what he's doing, including our Aussie guys, who just don't make it.
I'm not sure I have the answer, but asking the question may help.
