Re: Govt Mule - Metro Theater

Yeah I went down on Monday as well. Lukas Nelson was excellent, his songs told great stories and his guitar playing was tasteful and classy. The Mule were great. Banks Of The Deep End and Beautifully Broken were standouts for me. The musicianship on display was incredible. I don’t know how they reme...

Re: Rock/musician biographies you liked.

In another book on AC/DC, Mick Wall suggested Bon's party lifestyle led him to heroin, which may have pushed him over the edge on that particular night. Does Jessie Fink suggest similar findings, or would that spoil the book?

Re: Midnight OIl in the Domain - 11.11.2017

As mentioned earlier about the sound not being 'there'. At the Domain gig there were stacks of speakers pointed in every direction, up the front and the middle of the crowd. Being digital I thought the sound was crisp and clear but compressed enough to evenly distribute the instruments sound. Ticks ...

Re: Midnight OIl in the Domain - 11.11.2017

I went to see the Oils last night too and they were awesome. The sound could have been louder and there was no encore, but the band are unreal. Musically there's no one who touches those guys. They sound like no one and no one sounds like them. The dynamics and guitar interplay keep the music intere...

Re: Newcastle GTG Oct 14th 2017 2-5pm Sawtooth Studios

Hey I was just looking at the photos and I noticed the Mesa Scout speaker was the same size as the 15" below it. I just went and measured the speaker and sure enough it's a 15"! All this time I was led to believe it was a 12" combo! No wonder it sounded large, having 2 x 15" speakers going for it wa...

Re: Newcastle GTG Oct 14th 2017 2-5pm Sawtooth Studios

Had a great arvo mucking around with so many bass toys. I left my phone at home so I hope Nigel and Jezz can post pics. Highlights for me: - Nigel's lightweight rig punching out tasty tones with his 6 string Mailloux bass. There's a lot of guitar there. A Barefaced 10" and I forget the other 10", wi...

Dust off your gear, bass lovers, this Sat 14th Oct from 2pm at Sawtooth Studios is where it's at. Do yourself a favour and come and say g'day. I'll take some spare 9V batteries just in case. Looking forward to seeing you there.
