Left field question - chorus pedals and feedback a-la Magic Dirt

I can’t find an answer anywhere to a question I have pondered for years. Why and how do chorus pedals feedback the way they do, warbly and self-oscillatory. Mostly this happens with guitar but I have achieved the same with bass > any old chorus > big muff or TurboRAT and close proximity or high volu...

Re: Blind test: MusicMan StingRay 2004 vs Cort GB75JH

That was a really interesting comparison. I guessed the Cort was first, but when I heard the Ray I was second guessing - could it really be *that* "stingy" - surely any manufacturer could easily over-compensate on the sting factor when emulating. But no, the real thing is stingy. Makes me kinda real...

Yeah same boat. Not a fan of fivers. You might just have to brush up on that bass swap routine.

Re: Pitch shifters... Recommendations???

What are you trying to achieve? Changing your bass tuning electronically? Doesn't sound very nice to me, not to be negative but I can't imagine that working out very well. Achieving this with guitar seems a whole lot more successful. Having played in bands with different tunings, I have always attem...

Re: In Ear Monitor system suggestions

+1 for the Sennheiser gear. We use these at church, each side mono for two people if you don't need stereo. I am using a pair of Shure SE 215s, the blue ones. They suit me just fine. A lot of people rag on them, "not enough bottom end etc etc". I don't actually want massive bottom end in my ears, it...

Re: Clean Bass Preamp recommendations

MXR M-80 user here. The thing is killer. I wonder if a Trace Elliot Transit-B would fit your description. I personally stay away from SansAmp, only because I am not find of the SansAmp sound.

FS: Dunlop 105Q, Crossfire Tremolo

$30 - Crossfire Tremolo. Good condition, nice tone and waveform options, small size great for pedal boards. Velcro attached to underside. $70 - Dunlop 105Q Bass wah. Rubber feet included. Velcro on bottom. This one has seen some miles but works like the first day. I'll clean it up before selling, wa...

Re: Peter Gifford (Giffo) Midnight Oil

All over this thread like I wish I was all over Peter's P bass that is in the RnR Hall Of Fame. A work colleague took a picture of it and sent to me. I asked her to "borrow it" if she had the chance! I drive around the countryside for work. My favourite Midnight Oil albums get regular rotation: 10.....

Hey mate, sorry been an extremely busy week. I found them this morning. Black shell EMG Select. Two-wire models: SEHB. Price I would have to get back to you unless you wish to make an offer. They are in good condition and sounded fine from what I recall. Happy to chat more
