Re: So i took out the big rig last night....

Hahaha, I was expecting an 8x10 weighing 90 kilos.

Having said that, I took my pair of 2x10's to a gig last week and the boss was all "Why did you bother with all that stuff?" hehehehe.

As tearalong said, the world has changed.

What a cool idea for a thread. I've always liked the bass sound (and how it's recorded) in:

Re: Who got a Christmas bass?

Which Hercules stand fell apart on you? No, it's which Hercules stands fell apart on me. Two down so far, and a third is going any minute now but will be making new friends in the bin before it happens. Firstly all the plastic fittings turn into sticky rubbery goop. At that point the stand basicall...

Re: Who got a Christmas bass?

No xmas bass but Santa left me a nice K&M Memphis Pro Stand. Coincidentally it’s just after my second Hercules POS fell apart.

Way to go Santa!

Re: The "What are you READING?" thread

my cousin just dropped off "The Secret Memoirs of Lord Byron". This WILL be interesting from what I know about him. I expect sodomy, homosexual affairs, hopefully some drug taking and general debauchery lol :partydance: Heck, or you could just come to one of our inner city gigs (sigh). I speak as a...

Re: The "What are you READING?" thread

Currently, the current Jack Reacher. <SNIP> I enjoyed that. After finishing all the "Reachers" I'm now on book three of https://www.goodreads.com/series/43717-virgil-flowers . Detective stuff, with a slight music/band with the hero's t-shirts :) This year I've been diving into and recoiling out of ...

Re: Are you playing Mustang Sally correctly?

don't tell me people are still playing this song? I got bored of it, oh, on the second listen If I only played stuff I've liked beyond the second listen I reckon I'd never play out at all haha. I'm always interested when people slag off songs like Sally. In some of the blues circles people will hap...

Re: Fix for where a sticker has left a non-faded patch?

I've had this on a natural finish headstock where the previous owner had left his clip-on tuner there for years. I didn't care for how it looked either but like the bass enough to buy it anyway. I store my "most used" basses on single stands, not in cases, and after about a year of being on its stan...

Love the little Yeah/Nah switch - what does it do? Oh yeah it's a passive mute. Im OCD about not leaving my active bass plugged in during breaks and I HATE the sound of the amp when you unplug/plug it in... I used to use the tuner to mute but there was no room :-) I'm the same about not leaving my ...

Re: WTB Short scale bass [BRISBANE]

It's particularly irritating that Ibanez don't bring their Mikro in to Australia. They're a great option if you can find someone willing to cart one back from a Guitar Centre. Mega Music (I have no idea who they are) show them on their site: https://www.megamusiconline.com.au/ibanez-gsrm20-mikro-el...

Re: Rickenbacker owners....

Sadowsky and Musicman you don't need a truss tool, anything you have laying about that will fit in the hole works. I keep an old rounded off allen key I've ruined on something else.

Sorry :P

Once Giffo left the band I have't liked a single track they have made since.
Same for me pretty much. Also agree that the Goat Island thing was about as good as it could get.
