Re: Build #12 - 6 string fretless (warning; crazy content)

Last night and this morning I intended to get a bunch more done on the bass. However, I was working in this... https://i.imgur.com/kRrvsHz.jpg I guess it was about 12 months of build up. I'm a "critical mass" kind of cleaner and it had well and truly got beyond a joke. Much of what was taking up the...

Re: Small Rig

40 kilos? no wonder my back hated it. Halfway up a double storey set of stairs I felt it slipping, so I let go, if it broke I'd borrow someone else's amp, I had stopped caring. It slid all the way down to the basement level with a loud thud. Worked first time and for the next five years til I trade...

Re: Build #12 - 6 string fretless (warning; crazy content)

Managed to borrow these lovely old gouges from my father inlaw. They're good old steel and sharpened up pretty well using a trick I used from Crimson Guitar. https://i.imgur.com/tVvRBgX.jpg Started off with this. https://i.imgur.com/4XNqNKf.jpg Then vigorous sanding with 80 and then 240. Across the ...

They look like rotomatics with slightly bigger posts and buttons. Cool stuff.

Re: SINGLE STRING SLAP PERMUTATIONS??

Hi Aaron, welcome to OBF. We like stingrays and bacon, so you should fit in well around here. :) A couple things stand out to me (as a teacher and a player)... 1. A proper DI feed from the bass into the camera/computer will make the bass sound a lot clearer. 2. Slow down each exercise to a step by s...

Re: Small Rig

How great is it that we're well past the 1980s, when a small rig was an EV-TL 15" and a Peavey MkIV. Neither of them lightweights.

I really like that slotted headstock. Are the tuners original? Could you show us a pic of the back of the headstock?

all companies could take a leaf out of their book, awesome.

Hipshot were similarly amazing to me too, wonder why the guitar/bass hardware companies are so good and everyone else so bad?

My 2x12 and 900 watt is the small rig.

The other two involve some serious lifting.

Re: Any Markbass Evo 1 users/opinions?

I've watched this demo a while back... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1G-BHGfvV-A I don't think there are any "effects" to speak off beyond the amp emulators and reverb. https://58eca9fdf76150b92bfa-3586c28d09a33a8c605ed79290ca82aa.ssl.cf3.rackcdn.com/dv-mark-evo-1-amp-head-441480.jpg There are howe...

Seth Lover Humbucker Telecaster Bass in the clip- sounds like it could be it on the recording too.
They can be hard to control in a live situation.
How do you mean, hard to control?
