Re: Unicorn (4005) sighting

There are those who would trade their spouse for such a thing. There is no way I would trade my spouse even for a real unicorn, besides what use would I have for a Rhinocerous? :D I've often said... "a man has to sleep somewhere." ;) Better to sleep next to a sympathetic woman who isn't trying to k...

Re: Company which will cut pickguard material?

I would have thought anyone with a small bandsaw or scroll saw could help you. Matt at saltmine? I could easily do it, but I'm a distance away from you.

If I had 8K down the back of the couch then I would no longer have 8K down the back of the couch.

TAKE MY MONEY!
I'm usually diametrically opposed to Rics but that is glorious. Thank God I don't have 8k or a spouse who'd approve such a purchase. :peep:

Re: Gigbag for a 50" long bass.

39" scale, you say? You're late to the party! Some years ago during my most eclectic and prolific bass hoarding phase (which coincided with escaping my first marriage) I owned Rod Clements' (Lindisfarne) custom built 39" fretless. It's big. Didn't come with a gig bag, but it did have an aluminium a...

I've looked into keyboard cases, but I'm afraid of it flopping around in there.

Gigbag for a 50" long bass.

Because I have mental problems, I built a bass with a 39" scale. Now I need a case for it. It's 1265mm long, or in imperial, just shy of 50" long. I'm looking for a bass gig bag (or similar) for it. I really don't want to spend more than AU$100. No offence to Mono, but I don't see the value in a bag...

That's kinda the thing though. She's just great to watch too. Smiles the whole time. Unlike a lot of jazz musos who look aloof or like they're being tortured. You can tell she's really enjoying playing and the other people playing with her.

Sensibly priced shipping OS. How is it that they can send me some for $1 and free shipping from China, but the same part sent across Australia would cost minimum $3, just in shipping? Makes no sense. Shipping to and from the US is even worse. :(

There's no room for a mini switch sadly. Beyond that, I do have some options for the buffering circuit. I'll try that first.

Re: Build #12 - 6 string fretless (warning; crazy content)

Spent the afternoon with my twin bro yesterday. He's a pretty great guitar player. We were jamming on some tunes. He had a few interesting insights into small, but significant improvements on the bass. The 2 I think I'll try and run with are the following... 1. Some dot markers. I realized yesterday...

Re: Post your rigs - PART TWO

Kind of new rig day this week. Got my GK700RBII out of storage - I haven't used it in years. I have been looking at cabs, tried pretty much everything I could find in stores sub $1000 and walked away with an SWR 4x8. Sounds good to me, not quite as articulate as the Rumble 115 A/B'd it with but the...
