Re: Who uses scrapers?

I've made a couple of scrapers from old saw blades. Certainly not an expert on them, but I tend to use them for cleaning up a neck once I'm done with the rasp and files. Leaves a great finish and yes you can turn them around when they seem blunt. I'd like to try them on end grain like Bassbass sugge...

Re: Band PA?

Recent update. Our drummer has bought some good powered foh speakers, lights, etc and I had a small mixer. So far it's working well and we throw him an extra $50 for bringing the speakers, stands, cables and lights. For the size gigs we're doing it's perfect.

Re: TO ALL WORKING BASSISTS

I had to talk our drummer through this list recently or something like it. I reckon clubs are the worst offenders. Please don't let them pretend they're not making money when the place is stacked with poker machines. Minimum $50/player/set, and make sure you pay the guy who brings the PA a little ex...

Re: International Rosewood

Ok, so I might be dredging up a zombie thread here... planning a trip to the US. Have my eyes on something. Guitar Center are telling me it's up to me me to obtain the cite even though they'd sell me the guitar. Do I need a cite if I'm carrying back in to Australia? How would I get a cite out of the...

Re: Jordan Peterson

I've been watching and listening to JP since before he became a superstar. He's been able to circumvent a lot of the leftist stupidity just by pointing out the logical inconsistencies in their arguments with simple truths and basic research stats. If you want to check out some other other guys doing...

Re: [NBD] Lakland 55-94 USA Deluxe

Thanks :D but this isn't a production line bass, it's a USA Lakland, 100% handmade. Not to seem pedantic, but all guitars are handmade. Even your $150 Chinese jobs. And I'd suggest they used some power tools in there somewhere (and probably some CNC, which is a good thing btw). ;) But yeah, really ...

That's gorgeous. I don't usually drool over production line basses but that is awesome.

Didn't stonecoldbass do exactly this a while back? Apparently to great success. Dig up that thread from about 4 months back.

Re: Live, without amps

Time to invest in IEMs Well, that's the interesting thing. We were also talking about IEMs, but on Saturday I think we realized, we just don't need them. Which pretty cool, because they're a solid investment and a bunch'o'messing around. It's also just some more junk we'd have to carry. I think, in...

Re: Live, without amps

I was using this pedal as my DI/pre-amp... https://www.cheaperpedals.com/products/moen-buffalo-parametric-eq-mo-ba It's got a pretty sympathetic sounds and is VERY flexible. I'm used to using a Class A valve amp. Hi gain, low master setting. Even still it's hard to get the sweet sound at low volume....

Re: Live, without amps

The speakers were 10"s and at the level we were playing at, more than up to the task. They'd been set up against the wall just behind us, so we could hear ourselves fine. Again, usually this would be a feedback issues, but because the volume was sensible there were no feedback issues at all. :)

The Fender Rumble series is quite light and reasonably cheap. Not sure how it goes on upright.
This. Been super impressed by them. My sis-in-law has one and it's the ducks guts and stupid light too.
