Making the guitarist redundant... or is that the bassist?

At the risk of getting myself kicked off the forum for behavior unbecoming of a bass player, I thought I'd tell you guys about a new blues project I've been putting together. Let me give you a little background first. The previous blues band I was in was stocked by the nicest guys I've ever played w...

Re: Having the strap nut on the back of the bass?

Still not sure what you mean exactly, but I've done this arrangement on the back of two guitars now. I was inspired by Jens Ritter's and Sheldon Dingwall's efforts to get better balance. It does work well.

Re: Neon Sisters - Monoplane album (Double Electric Bassists)

Downloaded this the other day. Still getting the hang of it, but it's got some pretty cool stuff on it. Think Massive Attack meets Peter Gabriel, meets Pink Floyd, meets Bowie. All stuff I really enjoy.

Re: Build #3, 4, 5 ...

I purchased the low profile truss rods from Stewmac along with the router bit and pilot & reamer. The Low-profile Truss Rod fits a routed channel 1/4" wide x 3/8" deep. The Router Bit is designed to rout this channel. After the channel is routed, it needs to be modified to accommodate the metal hou...

You don't use any epoxy in the rod channel, but I did wrap it up in insulating tape first to get it nice and tight. I did use titebond gluing the extra block on the end of the neck. Here's last night's efforts. Was crazy hot here (42degC) so I didn't do anything until quite late. https://i.imgur.com...

Pinned the edges of the board in place before I mixed up any Araldite... https://i.imgur.com/FtSsU8o.jpg In retrospect, maybe it's not quite as bad as I think it is. I definitely put too much on to begin with, but I used the super strength. That gives me 30min play time before it starts to set. Whic...
