Hah, I wish. I feel like the Ken Smith humbuckers are such an individual sound. That and Hadrien's fingers.

Re: Bass Tone in a song you'd love to have in live performances

I've been chasing the Hadrien Feraud / Evan Marien 'Smith' tone for years. You'd think owning the same Walnut Ken Smith Burner as Evan would get me close, but it doesn't feel like it. (My Burner came with aftermarket Bartolini's. I put Bill Lawrence J945s and an Aggie OPB-3 in it, but the lack of th...

Considering how uncommon these probably are, sound clips might really help the sale.

I have one too! Bought it direct from Jack while I was playing on a cruise ship based out of LA. Back in Brisbane now though. I know how hard they are to find and play over here, so if any forum members are at the pointy end of making the decision to purchase one, message me and we might be able to ...

Re: Wireless earphones straight out of your amp

I would not recommend bluetooth. As far as I know bluetooth has enough latency to make direct monitoring impossible. Which is probably reason I've seen zero people using bluetooth headphones/earphones on stage as IEM's. I have the Rolls pm35 and Shure 215's. On the cruise ship where I work currently...

Re: I Will Survive in G? I said No.

Here's the things. You are playing 30-40 songs per night, most of which were sung by different singers, of different genders with wildly different voices and ranges. It's one thing to expect Lionel Ritchie to sing a set of Commodores material, and Bon Jovi to do a set of Bon Jovi, but to expect your...

Re: FS TecAmp Puma Micro 500 PENDING

Amazing amps, super clean and clear. I A/B'd my Puma with a mates TH500, found I could make the Puma sound really similar vintage mid forward sound that TH are known for by boosting both LowMid and HighMid on the EQ to 1 or 2 oclock, and putting the 'taste' knob about to 2 or 3oclock to tame the hig...

Re: The LEARN ONE SONG EVERY DAY Thread

Both of these lists are great. They start easy and get harder toward the end, and are full of songs with cool basslines. I usually direct students to these if they're a bit lost for rep or to work on during the holidays. http://how-to-play-bass.com/play-bass-in-50-songs-rock http://how-to-play-bass....

Re: Switches/pre's for doublers

Yeah man, I'd jump on that F-Deck bandwagon. Put an F deck between the upright and the LS-2 and you're all sorted.
This probably works best if you have active EQ on your bass, so then you have some separate EQ control between the two.

Re: Help! Touring this weekend - Godin A5 hardcase?

Hey sorry for the late reply! I took the bass apart the night before the flight and managed to just fit it inside a hardshell suitacse, but the neck was jammed up against both corners. I started getting worried that the baggage handlers might drop it onto a corner, and I'd arrive down there with a s...
