Re: Quiz: Can You Name the Bassist by the Bass?

13/15 but yes a few lucky ones in there. Couple of those, like Greg, were by eliminating the others. There were three I went "oh thats ..." Wooten, Bootsy and Lemmy because their instruments really stand out. Had to think about the rest.

thanks for posting it.

^ No she'd like it to be that way and it's probably going to be that way if I can just get organised to take some pictures and get the gear up.

Re: Visiting Warwick and Sandberg Factories - Questions?

Don't want to take my Warwick $$ body across and bring it back with the piezo bridge conversion do you? Been toying with that idea for a little while since I heard one live a few years back. Worked out the electronics, can buy all the bits but there is something about cutting into the unique instrum...

I was interested too but too lazy to sell the other stuff sitting around the music room. Strictly enforced one in - one out policy here at home.

Re: Plek setup

I was looking at alternatives to staying with my current job and thought that it might be possible to buy one of these and supplement income from something less stressful. The machine is in excess of $100K plus there are ongoing fees to Plek for each instrument and they have to have an internet conn...

Re: Classic Build #1 The whole bass and nothing but.....

Oh, yes that makes sense. Pity I'd like to have caught up and can't make Sydney either, readdressing a whole buildings IP network on Saturday. 279 fixed device IP's that all have to know each others IP address. It's a hell of a table to get right. I'll be at MSGM on Thursday night to finish off the ...

Re: Classic Build #1 The whole bass and nothing but.....

Nothing wrong with looking at other peoples designs and adding your own interpretation. Got to start somewhere to get to somewhere else. As long as you don't say it's all yours and deny the inspiration of where it came from. In my latest build I am taking up some LeFay and Sneaky inspiration. Pete: ...

Re: Pros and cons of selling the big rig

Did a gig at the MCG once.... my quad wasn't going to cover it. Having said that I will have my 611 etc up for sale shortly too. Just not playing big anymore. I used 3x12s at the SCG, which felt about right. A week later I filled in with an Aussie rock tribute band at an RSL club on the NSW C...

Re: Wet carpet help

I've seen those carpet blowers at industrial hire places. Suck what you can out of the carpet, lift and dry it then get the carpet secured again. Seen it done a few times too but they didn't close the area up but opened it all up to get the humidity out.

Re: Ebay thread PART TWO - the good, bad, and ridiculous...

^ Went to visit a mate at a evangelical type church a few years back and the bass player was playing a Warwick Vampire. Looked odd, in a worship context, but he played well and it did the job. He looked like a metal player, you know long hair and bass around his thighs, so it fitted with him. Is tha...

Re: FS: Two Warwick basses - Custom shop Corvette and Special Edition Streamer

I was hunting for ages for the fretless twin to my one of those. I should of have brought it from BC when I had the chance.

No doubt it sounds just as good as mine. GLWTS. I hate you for fretting it though. :cry
