Re: Cole Clark Long Lady 5

I was talking with Guy at Basscentre at the guitar show and he had some input as well he says.

Re: NAD Wayne Jones pair 1x10s

Did you get a chance to try it? I only tested it in Wayne's studio so not really an opportunity to know how well it would do on an open stage. Doesn't sound like you can turn up very loud at church though, it would definitely be loud enough in that setting. Pairs very nicely with Monique :) If it c...

Re: NAD Wayne Jones pair 1x10s

I was looking at those just last week for my church rig! Loose the 610 & Demeter, which is so overkill, and do what you’ve done. Great minds hey? My initial thought was for a Berg IP310 but I missed one for sale here last year. Just looking to simplify and still have a solid tone.

Re: Melbourne Guitar Show

Back home from the show and again it was noisey but lots of familiar faces dropped by to say hello and we were quite busy. There are worst ways to spend a day than chewing the fat with like minded friends. Photos of some of the bass stuff on offer for those that missed out. another shot of our share...

Re: Melbourne Guitar Show

^. No the fret less one in the middle is one of Bruce Johnson’ reproductions. I floated the same picture on TB and found that out.

Sorry only took that one. I’ll take some more tomorrow but these stood out as being different from the norm.

Re: Latest Builds

That spalted one looks so elegant. I love the fretboard extension/thumb rest - never seen that before that I recall - great idea and great result. Thanks for the nice comments. I'd love to take credit for the thumb rest but I stole it so can't take any credit. Have a look at Rob Allen' offerings an...

Re: Melbourne Guitar Show

I don't know I was the main attraction, your offerings got quite a bit of attention. However, in 30 minutes, I just might be on the Channel 9 news. Who knows somebody might see me and offer me a job in a guitar factory! And for the record 30" scale isn't that tiny.

Melbourne Guitar Show

Spent the day with the guys from the Melbourne School of Guitar Making, DrBass from Polaris and Colin from Melbourne Pickups at the Guitar Show. Very noisey is the first comment, lots of stuff to see would be the 2nd and if anyone is looking for Ampeg Scroll basses I think Sunburst Music have brough...

Re: Latest Builds

Lots happened this week. David let me loose with paint gun so they got their final coats. While the bodies were hardening up the bits for the necks got assembled. The nuts and bridges were roughed in and today I was doing the slotting for the correct height. My dinning room table became my work benc...

Haven’t been around for a while and miss heaps of progress. I sincerely hope Ivan makes an offer to do some demo videos when they are done .... subtle
I'm hoping too. Maybe having Monique for a while will encourage him to do it?

Re: Latest Builds

To dusty in the shop to do any paint work today. Caught up with Michael busily fret levelling and re-crowning. So I left a bit early having drilled the screw holes for the various covers, got the neck ready for next weekend and sanded down the pieces for the start of the top coating next week, glued...
