I have a USA L2500 that I'd be willing to trade if that's of any interest? Was my first 5 string but I haven't used her in years...
Tempting, but I don't know, I really don't need that "extra" string.
What do you rest your thumb on then?

Re: Latest Builds

Ok so it's my finger? For those wanting to know what we are talking about on one of Michael's basses the G string 4th fret "B" sounded flat but the tuner says it wasn't. I play a little bit of the bass line to NIVRAM a Hank Marvin tune as my go to noodle. I know what it should sound like and the B w...

Re: Latest Builds

Thursday evening I took the body out of the vacuum bag. Success! https://i.imgur.com/cSqhefE.jpg I then built a scarf joint jig to offset the headstock from the neck. I'd cut the timber down to size to give me three necks and enough headstocks and wing pieces to match on Tuesday. https://i.imgur.com...

Re: Maple Fretboard clear coat help

All's well that ends well and nice that it didn't cost you anything. Did you throw a slab his way? It used to be the currency of choice on a building site for favours.

Re: Latest Builds

Nice work Blaine, the Uke is looking terrific and can't wait to see the mouse come together. Gee you've done a lot of work in a relatively short space of time. Thanks Ivan, I've been putting in a lot of hours there while off work, but I am getting faster as the skill level picks up. Tonight ...

Re: Latest Builds

And so with the Uke almost done it was time to start the next one. I was going to do a kit harp again. I brought one for Sharon for Xmas a few years back but I sold my RA Mouse last week and I am going to miss it but figured that I could come pretty close to building something similar or at least tr...

Re: Latest Builds

Been hitting the shop a lot recently so things have progressed with the Uke build and I've started a new bass build. So I cut a rosette into the top using a fiddly circle cutter. Not happy with the fit but with some ebony mixed into the glue it came up ok. https://i.imgur.com/0DFox0Y.jpg Put the inl...

Re: WTB: phil Jones BigHead

I'm at a loose end still and have time to go for a drive or two if that helps. If you interstaters get organised with Ivan and set up a single pick up I can then go get them and post them to you if that helps. Ivan, I am closer to Geelong that you are so if you want I can get the first batch Monday ...

Re: Custom Neck

Seriously just come down to MSGM and build one that suits you. Yes you can strip the board off that broken one and replace the rod but you've still got to reshape and put a new finger board on anyway. You'd be saving yourself an evenings work at best. Classic 5 started with building just a neck, kne...

Re: Help me fix my window demister!

When I get snafu'd I try to remember how expensive the proper fix is. Hang in there some companies processes are just not flexible enough to deal with single users. I once drove a $5 wall sensor to a guy on the way home because it was going to cost me too much time and him way too much money to go t...

You can only do what you can do. Putting stuff aside till later isn’t a bad thing. You’ve got lots of mates here thinking of you and wishing for a speedy recovery.
