Yes Jeremy I would loan it to you. How long do you want to have it though?

Like a few others here, I would be interested in some sort of tube preamp. Just can't swing 2.5k for a Monique, so for the time being I have to record through a dodgy U5 :(
Or borrow mine! All you have to do is ask.

I said yes, but realistically, no, and I can't change my vote.
That's fine, I'm not taking orders!

Re: Tube Amps

I’d love to have something like a Monique in a pedal form :) Dunno exactly how it matches a Monique, but this is a tube pedal that looks like a good design - the tube are running at high voltage so it should sound and act just like a proper preamp. http://frogpedals.com/index.php/category/frog-tube...

Re: Tube Amps

What's the definition of reasonable? I was going to build a all valve bass head, before I bought my Traynor YBA300. I realised the parts were going to cost more than the already built amp. You're right Greg. Parts plus margin will still see me costing more than a production amp. So the marke...

Re: Tube Amps

I would rather see you clone your Monique for a good price Blaine :hyper: I have recently bought a Ampeg PF50T so I have the small tube amp covered. Not going to replicate Monique. It's not out of production, Jule makes his living from it and it's schematics are not available in published literatur...

Re: Tube Amps

I love the idea, but I'm seeing a sizable problem. You're using "point to point", "handmade" and "affordable" in the same sentence. I can't see how you can do that in Australia with such a small target market. I don't see how you'll make any money. See I go to MSGM and will go regardless for person...

I’ll help you out. But I’m going to have to look up Kingsville because it doesn’t ring a bell.

Re: Tube Amps

Could be anything at this stage. My initial thoughts was for the 100w variant. Cab is possible too.

Tube Amps

Guys I am thinking of starting a side business in building tube amps, specifically the Ampeg B-15. What interest is out there from you, a fair sample of the bass community, for a reasonably priced clone in a nice enclosure? I'm talking top quality components, point to point wiring rather than circui...

Re: Fender Jazz pickup cover over the bridge??

Is it a 5 string you are playing around with? I have a mechanical mute that I'm not using I can send you. I had it on one of my basses for a project band and then removed it. It's one of these and works pretty well. http://bassmute.com/bassmute/bm_mainframe.html

Re: Bass Buddha interview with Jule Potter from Jule amps

I have the dove cage and spent best part of 30 minutes on the phone with Jule before buying it. They are not cheap and there were only 7 in the country that he knew of at the time so it wasn't like I could go try one. In the end I brought it on chatting with him and the wrap that TB give him. I've n...

Re: WTB 5 pot preamp for my bass

I'd recommend Nol based on my last bass build. They have lots of different options and mine was a double-p so I had Volume with push/pull active passive, Blend and then a 3 Band Parametric Equaliser on stacked pots.

Good to see Blaine in the workshop today finished the super-secret project. ..... Regards, Michael Not quite finished, a little bit of touch up work to do on the finish yet. But yes it's playing well and must say everyone at home thinks it's gorgeous. Big shout out to David and Rob who as always ma...
