WTB/WTTF: Stingray 4H Maple/Natural or Burst & Road Worn Jazz Burst

Hi all, Was in the studio over the weekend and fell in love with a maple necked stingray 4H... they won't sell it to me so now I want to find another. Has to be natural or burst. Also got an inkling I need a jazz bass. Wouldn't mind a roadworn 60's in burst as I love my roadworn 50's P but I'm willi...

Re: Spare DI and Compressor Sale

I've landed on the REDDI but may keep one of the other ones as a live to desk DI so I can leave the REDDI at home. Has anyone tried a Kahn Audio DI or Audio Leaf DI? They seem to offer slightly different flavours within the tube di family. Really liked the Avalon but its size and weight killed it f...

Re: Spare DI and Compressor Sale

Tempted by the RNDI but I'm in the same boat... too much stuff & can't really justify it.

I'm also interested in what you kept. I really miss my Avalon U5 :(

Re: 5-string set neck - Mailloux #003

Just had a play on this for the first time in a few years ashamedly. I don't play 5ers at all these days but I can't bring myself to get rid of it so it mainly hangs on the lounge room wall as an art piece. I was looking for this thread coz I couldn't remember what the fretboard was made of. Shame a...

Re: Favourite colour on a bass?

No colour! Natural wood beats all. If I absolutely have to have a color it would be tobacco burst or vintage 2 tone sunburst. As long as you can still see that beautiful grain.

Hoping to find one closer to $450 but I'm dreaming lol Got mine from these guys. THey did me an even better ...

Re: Decent gig bags?

I just bought a mono M80 dual bag which I'm very happy with. I have a reunion blues bag which will be up here for sale as soon as I get around to it if you are interested. Only selling coz I can't see myself needing it & the mono double-banger.

Hey Terry, Would you sell without the Pelican case and for how much? I really don't need another one, I already have plenty of pelican-style cases.

Manfred at MHB in Rostrevor is my go-to guy when something is beyond my expertise. He's very well priced & very thorough.

Re: I desperately need help with technique and don't know where to begin

This series is great for picking tips & may help you out. It is aimed at guitarists but I think the stuff about pick angles for string jumping etc applies just as well to bass if you are trying to play quickly:
