My kids couldn't care less. If Audi made basses, my daughter would probably have more interest.
What if you tell her BMW helped design the Bongo ?
My youngest loves that the 30th anniversary Musician, is 11 out of 15. She thinks that's very special.

What do your kids think of your basses?

Just curious to know if other people's kids have strong opinions about your instruments? My eldest daughter has often been annoyed when I've purchased another bass or guitar and has told me I don't need any more. [Yes, this is my daughter, not my wife. My wife likes them]. My youngest daughter on th...

So what brand pickups do they use in those? They don't leave you guessing do they. Bigger and bolder than the logo on the headstock.

Re: NBD - Birth Year P With Tort Guard

Yea, I wasn't sure what to expect. It didn't seem likely, but you never know. Stranger things have happened. Looks great, although seems to have more string than is needed for a 'bass'. I like the position lines. Shouldn't miss those on a dimly lit stage. I also like that the back plate matc...

Re: Sansamp Fly Rig

I still use mine all the time. Only really using the Sansamp section and the tuner though. I should use the boost to compensate for lower output basses, rather than adjusting the gain. I occasionally use the chorus, but it would be a lot more useful with a depth and speed control.

Re: OPINION: What do you hate/dislike most about your equipment?

That i cant look at it, bass guitar wise, whilst i play it. I dont like the look of the bloke holding it in the mirror. He's a bit dodgy lookin i reckon  Find myself staring in awe at a couple of my basses with them singing "play me" but im not the vanity type to mirror stare when i do That's ...

My vote - both dates suit me.

(Actually I might have accidentally voted twice while test-driving it). Fixed the Poll but can't withdraw the second vote.
It won't let me vote twice!

Re: Sydney GTG this year?

So when is best for people? Do we do it after Oct 28, which means November (as I assume most people get busy in December) or wait until early next year? I CAN do the Sat 28th Oct. Any major events on Sat Nov 4th? eg. grand finals, etc. Maybe a Poll with 5 options... - Oct 28th only - Nov 4th only -...

Re: Gear you're dying to try out

Never played through an all tube amp either so that would be the other thing. Are you sure - you've been to 3 or 4 GTGs and haven't tried any that have been there? :hellno: I've been to a couple where there was so much gear, I didn't even notice some of it until I got home and looked at my photos. ...

Re: NBD Musicman Sabre

Ok.. So horrid is a bit extreme :yep . There is just such a massive difference even when they are supposed to be flat. The 2 band is so much smoother, yet clear and articulate. In theory a preamp with EQ set flat should not sound any different between 3 and 2 band since there should not be any eq i...

Wow.. That is a massive difference. the 3 band '95 is horrid in comparison. Different strings. I wonder how much difference that made.
