I could see it was mimed early on and never really watched it, fake music lol
I noticed with the '87 episode, that a number of singers, seemed to be live. Doing the live to a backing track performance. I hadn't seen that on Countdown until then.

Well, after watching the re-runs of the 1984-85 episodes I can see why I pretty much stopped watching Countdown around that time.
A good tune here and there, yes, but way, WAY too much crap in general!
I stopped around '84 too.

I heard he used to record with an Ibanez Musician. Played an old Precision live of course.

Re: Countdown

They were quite proud of him, as he'd been a library prefect. I bet THAT's not in his biography, not rock and roll enough haha :bat: He left at the end of year 10, to go to the Conservatorium High School, where I think he studied oboe. I believe he hated rock at that point in his life anyway.

Re: Countdown

Anyone remember Iva Davies' first band? before Flowers? It was a 60s covers band called the Boys ?? Saw em in 1978 or 79 at an Adelaide Uni O Ball show or Skullduggery, wearing all black leather a la The Quarrymen. Anyone else remember this or did I dream it? I don't know about earlier bands. What ...

Re: Countdown

A Gibson Victory Bass on tonight- the Paul Kelly clip. Also I think i saw a Dan Armstrong lucite- Georgia Satellites? No idea what the pickup was in the Victory? Looked similar to a Wal design. I did an EP with a band about 22 or 23 years ago, where the bassist had a fretless Victory, like that one...

So basically, a Fender style bridge, with three post mounting. Quite clever. The Hipshot one is good too.

Saw this on TB.
Very clever.
The 'inventor" claims a big improvement in sonics as well as the obvious improvement in adjustability.

Re: NBD........well...soon

Heath has pickup up his Musician, so that's it for me. He's going to use it at a gig tonight, so am sure he'll be giving us a report soon. While he was here we compared 5 amps and 5 cabs, using the Musician and my Jazz, with that '73 neck. Markbass TTE, Traynor YBA300, Berg AE212, GK1001RB2, Carvin ...

Re: Ebay thread PART TWO - the good, bad, and ridiculous...

https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/macedon/guitars-amps/1984-fretless-ibenez-musician-bass/1168219141 A little steep considering the mods and dings.. That's a good asking price, can always come down. The Fretless versions always sell for more - few were made & people hold onto them. Those cases fetch ...
