Re: Ebay thread PART TWO - the good, bad, and ridiculous...

This looks so wrong to me, the alignment of the control plate to the body rings alarm bells. I thought the 75 has https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/BASS-GUITAR-FENDER-JAZZ-IN-HARD-BLACK-CASE/183228168213?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649a triangle 3 screw neck plate? Re: Maybe a dumb D.I question

If you're using the DI out on your amp, then yes, the gain will affect the level. If I'm using the amp DI, I make sure to only adjust the master during the gig, as it's after the DI. If it's an external DI plugged in between your pedals and the amp, then any changes to your effects change what the D...

Re: Is it worth bidding on this Tele? (better pix)

How much did it go for?

Would have been a good buy at $290.

Re: Is it worth bidding on this Tele? (better pix)

It's one of the cheaper versions. The top of the range models were the vintage reissues, with vintage style hardware. The strings go through the tailpiece instead of the body on this one, which means it won't have as much 'snap' as a traditional Tele. Fender USA used these bridges in the early '80s,...

Re: Beyer Mic Pinouts Help Please

I haven't seen a 6 pin version for years. The only other mics I've seen with the 6 pin version, were some Sennheiser mics from the mid '70s.

Re: Beyer Mic Pinouts Help Please

A common thing to do, is make a short Tuchel to XLR adaptor lead. Saves having to find the right mic lead all the time. I have one permanently attached to one of my Neumann KM84s from '68. Or I presume that this would do the trick also? (After I clean up all the old solder of the plug pins) https:/...

Reminds me of the time I forgot my lead and had to use a 6" patch cable.

Re: Beyer Mic Pinouts Help Please

No worries Mike. Happy to help. It looked like a quality mic, judging by the barrel and it is. M69s are nice mics. Used them on many occasions.

Re: Beyer Mic Pinouts Help Please

Yep, photos work. So you're just fixing the cable? Tuchel DIN connector. Completely different wiring to an XLR. The mic will definitely have a balanced out. Is it to go to an unbalanced jack or to an XLR? If an XLR, then wiring as below. If unbalanced, connect pins 2 & 3, as per your original diagra...

Re: Beyer Mic Pinouts Help Please

What Bill said, although depending on the age of the mic and manufacturer, pin 3 might actually be hot + . I think we need more information on the mic though. The photos aren't showing up here. Do you know if the mic has a transformer inside? It's unusual to have an XLR output, if it isn't balanced....

Re: Can I use a speaker cable as an instrument cable?

The difference between instrument and speaker cables, is the shielding. Speaker cables are unshielded, so you run the risk of introducing noise to your system. Other than that, using a speaker cable won't damage anything.

Not a bass, but it was owned by a bassplayer - John Entwistle. Price seems a little high. It is pretty though.... https://images.reverb.com/image/upload/s--E2OkeEQ0--/a_exif,c_limit,e_unsharp_mask:80,f_auto,fl_progressive,g_south,h_1600,q_80,w_1600/v1491468993/l2cwyzxt3e2womaumu1f.png https://reverb...
