Re: NAMM visit and Holiday Leave

I'm looking forward to your opinion of the HG410, George. I think I'll have to put my name down for one of them if it lives up to its promise.

Have a safe trip mate!

Re: Flatwounds on an Acoustic Bass Guitar?

I changed from bronze to LaBella Tapes on my Washburn AB20 a few years ago, and I'll never go back. No finger noise and a much smoother sound, although the coating on the strings means that you're not grounded when your fingers are just in contact with the strings. This can cause an audible hum thro...

Re: Rant Thread !

Not much of a live scene here, but the few decent musos in this town now know I exist due to a few gigs I've done recently as a "fill in". Some potential for a cover band project next year. I didn't have time in 2017 but I'm also in the process of getting separated so once that's gone through, I'm ...

Best regards, Tim

Re: Teensy Practice Combos - What's Good / What's Bad?

I also have a Fender B-DEC 30 which is a compact, option-packed portable practice amp (inbuilt rhythm/backing tracks/looper/tuner) with an 8" speaker but the Bighead gets much more use as it sounds so dang good.

Re: Teensy Practice Combos - What's Good / What's Bad?

The Phil Jones Bighead is another option, if you've got a good set of headphones... Not much bigger than a pack of cigarettes, and the aux input has the best headphone preamp stage you'll hear for under a grand. Simply the best bass and aux sound. I often use it as a headphone preamp alone. Runs on ...

Adding my thanks to Phil and the mods. This is a great forum, and there's a lot of work you all put in to keep it so. It's very much appreciated.

Maybe add a Ref112? I've heard that's a great combo.

Re: Countdown

Noticed our own Juan Lauda's band The Expression (before he was in it) made the cut too. Thanks for the heads up, Greg! I'll have to catch up on it. I also had a fretless Musician in those days. Still have the classic TC Electronics Chorus/Flanger pedal I used with it for a bunch of The Expression'...
