Re: 5-string set neck - Mailloux #003

Definitely a major pain in the ass. I'll eventually move the photos to a different server and update all my build threads but don't hold your breath, its probably going to take a while :/

Re: Is this repairable?

Thanks for your reply's guys I sent Mike @ MTD an email and they replied super quick. They charge $500USD for refinish. I'll probably return it to seller. Got your email, I don't personally do refinishes but some of the local guys that do it typically charge around $600 so its definitely a big expe...

Re: Classic Build #1 The whole bass and nothing but.....

There's a saying that goes......Imitate then innovate. I'm only at the first stage of that right now.....just a beginner, learning the basics and enjoying the journey. Fair enough, I started the same way my first build was a copy of a Warrior bass. The work looks really nice so far Ivan, you're doi...

Re: Classic Build #1 The whole bass and nothing but.....

Beautiful body did you design it or copied from a boutique builder? Seems reminiscent of F basses.

Re: slashin_velvet's 1st full build

QLD Maple is fairly soft for a hardwood. I don't think you'd want to do a one piece neck out of that for a 5 string. I'd suggest resawing and making a multi-laminated neck with the boards glued on the quarter side. Depending on how long your blank is you might be able to get 2 pieces with an angled ...

Tom's Headless 5 String Bass - #033

This design was worked up from scratch with Tom based on his ideas of what it should look like. The body is Bubinga with a Burl top (was is Walnut?? :hmm :shifty: ), Wenge neck and Birdseye Maple fretboard. The headless hardware are Hipshot's.The pickups are Nordstrand/Dingwall FD3's with a Darkglas...

Re: Can't see photobucket links - Here's the fix from Mozilla

... A proper 'fix', at least for this forum, would be to programmatically interrogate all photobucket links in all past posts, re-host the linked images somewhere, and update the posts with the new links. Any volunteers? :) I'm already stressing out at the prospect of having to fix 30+ threads of b...

Re: Forum advice for selling strings

Hi David, read the forum rules again, there' a section on commercial users. You can post in the commercial user forum only. You should be good to go since you're already a supporting member. Try to keep your business to as few threads as possible, one by preference.

Yeah sorry, forgot to reinstall it when I updated the forum. I'm at work until next week so it won't be fixed until I'm back home in the beginning of August.

Thanks to Cleary for bringing this extension to my attention and getting me to install it. This should bring the forum forward.
