Re: FS: 1990 Warwick Thumb NT 4 String

Still lying on the couch recovering, while at the same time thinking about how comfortable this bass was to play. It's definitely a terrific instrument that feels and sounds wonderful. Nothing wrong with 4 strings either, definitely my preference these days.

Re: FS: 1990 Warwick Thumb NT 4 String

And it does absolutely nothing. Baseball bat neck, 4 strings only, heavy, despite 34" scale quite hard to play in the money region. Yes, there is sentimental value but it seems to diminish every day......... My back is in absolute pain today due to a lower disc tear or something so I'm lying down t...

Re: FIFA World Cup 2018

The final is going to be an epic David v Goliath.

I hope Croatia win, but I fear France may very well take it.

Anything could happen on the day though.

Re: TO ALL WORKING BASSISTS

The "rules" are good guidelines. We do covers and we do them well. We have over 100 songs in our repertoire and our gear and attitude is professional. We won't work for under about the money people are talking above ($200 each a night). Means we leave some of the venues to the guys who will work fo...

Re: TO ALL WORKING BASSISTS

That EXACTLY why I haven't been a "working" bassist for many years now Daniel. In 1984 I had a residency with a band and was paid $60 per night plus full on 3 course meal. The median house price in Melbourne was $65,000. In 2018, the median house price in Melbourne is over $900,000. So doing the ma...

Re: are nut slot hieights misunderstood?

I recall seeing a youtube tutorial by a well respected luthier who thought the same thing about nut hight and most factory produced basses. His tip was to press the second fret, and look at the space between the bottom of the string and the first fret. It should have just a tiny amount of space, jus...

Re: are nut slot hieights misunderstood?

Yes nut slots are usually higher than they should be on most production basses, and filing them down does make the bass easier to play. I did this on my Yamaha and made a real positive improvement re playability. Keep in mind that the nut is just a replaceable part. Depending on the material, over t...

Re: FS: Sandberg VM4 - $1650

Wow...that's beautiful

Great price too. Why on earth do I have the urge to play every stunning bass I see here

Quick question. From memory the fret board is pretty flat on these. Correct?
