Re: Sneaky's random builds log

I can't even make my own decisions.....not to speak of making someone elses

BUT.....I am one for sticking to the original plan wherever possible. Even if it's not a bass....did I just say that 8/

I think the blue so far is cheeky, like “hello, what’s all this then...” but doing the fretboard too might be clobbering over the head a bit with colour.
Maybe......I'm not sure now. Glad I don't have to make the decision :)

Re: Future Builds - Maybe Random

Come to think of it, I think a blue fretboard would look good on this bass. It would have to match the blue bits I can see on the body though. :2c:

Re: Future Builds - Maybe Random

How about some photoshop work to mock up a blue fretboard and compare side by side. Could be interesting......would definitely look less conventional.

Very impressive... although not sure about this “hopefully finished within the next couple months” comment. Doesn’t look like there is that much left to do.
Hopefully your right Pete.

Re: Classic Build #1 The whole bass and nothing but.....

Wow please tell me it’s gonna be 70s pickup spacing? Love the finish and simplicity! Magnetic battery cover is a great idea, have you check out the Stenback basses ‘brass tone weight’ that he screws to the inside of the control cavity plate?? Seems to add some mojo!! This one is 60's spacing, which...

Re: Classic Build #1 The whole bass and nothing but.....

loving the design mate, a man after my own heart! That burst is sumptuous too, almost what I would order direct from Canada if I had the chance! ;) It's gonna be a beauty Craig. F bass inspired shape with Delano JMVC 4 FE/M2 split coil humbucker pickups (as in the new Hadrien Feraud Mayones Jabba) ...
