Can’t wait for a demo video
I'll do my best Pete.......but lately I've been spending more time building than playing, so it will be interesting. As we all know bass is a very unforgiving instrument :eyebrow:

I'll definitely have demo with something nice and simple :yep

Re: Classic Build #1 The whole bass and nothing but.....

David has applied the first sealer coat and we're ready for some black dye to do the grain enhancing thing......bit nervous about the next step. I may have a go at it tomorrow. Fingers crossed I don't make a total mess of it.

Workshop tomorrow? Regards, Michael It's a yes to that Michael, if all goes to plan. One thing I’ve learn is this is more patience and attention to details than any great wood working mastery. Knowing you as I do this build is going to be exceptional Ok...,I'm feeling the pressure now

Not bloody bad for a first effort Thanks Nick. The credit definitely goes to Dave and Rob who have an uncanny ability to pull you up before you head off in the wrong direction. So far I'm really pleased with how things are going. I better start practicing so I have something to play when it's done.

Thought I'd post a mini update. Yes I now understand the therapeutic benefits of sanding, sanding and sanding. I feel strangely calm. Re: Sandberg Factory Tour

Another really informative writeup Michael. Thanks for taking the time to share with the Ozbass community

The article documenting the study was very interesting. The premium for a Yamaha BB series bass which has undergone such a treatment is quite significant.

That was a nice wrapup on the Warwick tour Michael. Some beautiful basses hanging on that wall :yep

Is it my imagination or is the body on the green Trajillo larger than the other two basses beside it?

Re: Warwick Factory Tour, Part 1

Michael, big thanks to you for taking the trouble to post such a detailed writeup. For those of us that may never get there in our lifetime this is the next best thing. Makes me feel sorry that I sold my warwick :( Just one question for you, if the tops are 24.5mm does that mean that the standard bo...

Re: Jazzmaster Bass #2

Certainly is a radius on the neck for a veneer fretboard, how novel! Here's what it looks like when finished on the right, compared to the 'standard' on the left (instead of 1,000 words). http://fendermustangstory.com/gphotos/slab_veneer.jpg Thanks for that Nick......definitely, a picture tells a t...
