Gallien also quoted as saying run gain/vol at 10/2 (o'clocks) for a clean tone and 2/10 for 'hit the rails' tone.

You get great value for money with Ashdown and great tone. I'm a fan of combos (for me) but wouldn't recommend it for you. It looks like you're in a position where you might want to experiment with a few different amp/cab combinations so flexibility would be good. If a Mesa Walkabout pops up buy it....
