Re: the MOVIE REVIEW thread

Saw the 'Death Of Stalin' the other day. Great satire about the power vacuum left when Stalin dies, and the subsequent rush for leadership. It's a dark comedy with witty one liners depicting the absurd lengths people will go to, to achieve power. I laughed all the way through. Steve Buscemi plays o...

Re: Introduce Yourself

Welcome Dave. Sounds like you'll fit in perfectly around here. Have you got any other hobbies? Or other things you'd like to do? As I live on the coast, I'm a surfer. Also like spearfishing (handspear) and mountain biking. Must be some great MTB Trails down south coast. And beaches too. :...

Look great, sound fat, medium-chunky neck & weigh an absolute tonne. Closer to 10lbs IIRC.

Plenty of reviews on TalkBass by owners.

Re: Maton MGB4

Nice bass :yep I have the fretted twin of this bass. Always thought it would make a terrific fretless. Price us right up there though, even if it is serial #007. The Fretless versions are selling for more than the fretted versions. Very low Serial numbers will become increasingly important in the l...

Re: Tube Amps

Yes. Do it.

Customised enclosures would be a bit inconvenient to make but would be a unique selling point and attract the top end of the market internationally.

Re: Fender Jazz pickup cover over the bridge??

Foam over strings sounds different from foam over. Tape allows fine adjustment of muting pressure, and more even pressure across the radius. Muting BOTH sounds great. Thomastik Flats, pick & two mutes sounds the best IMO (esp thru a tune amp). Pick playing sounds better than palm muting/fingerstyle ...
