Re: Jule Amps Monique 700

I've got the Monique M700 2RU model. I'd be keen to hear Monique Preamp into the B|Amp (Line In or FX Return or Inst Input). A signal boost before Moniques Input, and cranking Moniques Output Volume would give it a very nice signal break up. Turn the Sensitivity to the left for more sag/power amp cr...

I’ve played that one back in high school. It’s fun.
I did a slap bass solo (instead of drum solo) in this song with a Big Band I was in. LOTS of fun. :partydance:

Great bass playing BUT song is very dated

Got any songs with great bass lines but the song is very dated??

Trawling the 'net and found this cool slap bass line from 4min 20secs onwards. It seems 1978 was a bit of a no-mans land musically....

Re: Jule Amps Monique 700

I do like the Ampeg sound, though from what I've been reading a number of users really try to distance the Monique from Ampeg sound and stress that the Monique has much more clarity. Do you run pedals into yours? Specifically I'm curious about how it reacts to drives... I'm not an Ampeg SVT fan nor...

Re: Jule Amps Monique 700

If you like the Ampeg tone, then they you'll love these. They're clearer than Ampeg IMO. They have a dark/ warm sound some prefer (highs rolled off over 5kHz?). There's no OD, no mute, no bells or whistles. It's 8kg & 2RU, not the smallest amp. It doesn't suit some basses, but most of my basses soun...

Are Acme still around? They were good for 30Hz.

Hope you have a high wattage amp?

Re: Can a faulty lead "Scream"?

Oscillations can occur when an input (or output) has insufficient damping, ie has a much higher impedance than what it was designed for. An open lead is like an antenna - as we all know - and picks up buzzes and maybe local radio splutter. If you have partial connection - ie bad lead joint, fatigue...
