Re: Rosewood bans..

I was on the phone to Australian customs yesterday about this. He said it is fine to take instruments with rosewood in and out of Australia. You just need to declare it. He also said the worst case scenario is that it gets confiscated to be fumigated for bora insects but you'll get it back...eventua...

Re: FS US MTD Saratoga 5

Bump on this bad boy.

Now taking best offers for the bass.
This is cheaper than some of the mtd kingstons that are on offer.

Still open to the idea of trading for another kind of jazz...

Re: FS US MTD Saratoga 5

The fretboard has a compound radius. I think it goes from 9" to 12". It's pretty flat.
It's 34" scale and the spacing at the bridge is 19mm.
Hope that helps

9 months in hiding there Evan.... even better than Osama. :ninja: If only the American Government dangled an Ampeg Fliptop out in Afghanistan they probably would have caught Osama quicker :rolf: I actually saw Soong the other day at a mutual friends wedding and he inspired me to come back. I really...

FS US MTD Saratoga 5

Hey Ozbass! I've been sitting on the fence about selling this bass for a year now. It's been sitting in it's case collecting dust and so I've decided to pull the plug. Here is something you don't see very often. One of the early US Saratoga's built by Michael Tobias. Body - Lightweight Swamp Ash (tw...

Re: Anyone play Keyboard bass live?

Evan - do you plug the Korg R3 into your bass amp or a PA? I use a line selector then straight into the bass amp. Most big rigs seem to handle it pretty well. I can understand why people freak out about the low frequencies from keyboards but it doesn't really worry me too much. You just have to be ...

Re: Anyone play Keyboard bass live?

I occasionally play keyboard bass depending on which artist I'm playing for at the time. I used to use logic mainstage with an axiom midi controller however now I am just using a Korg R3 in Sydney. That keyboard is made for keyboard bass and you can pick one up used local for around $400 - $500. Peo...

Re: How would I go around installing the EMG?

Matt's new spot is on oxford street in darlinghurst, about a 5 minute walk from AIM just up crown street. I was there earlier this week getting some work done and unfortunately Matt has had a death in his family and has taken the next couple of days off to get things in order. He told me that he'd b...

Excellent. Well for those that don't give a damn ... the much anticipated world wide launch of Diablo III is a fail. Probably about a million humans trying to log on and we're getting "Error 37" [whatever that is]. Time to open a Cabernet Franc and enjoy the wait. I thought this video would be appr...

Re: Warwick's new line of bass amps

I think these amps sound great. The weight is not an issue for me when it sounds that good. And it really isn't that heavy. Try doing an Australian tour with a DB750 with no roadies and then you can complain about amps being heavy. And for the price I am seriously considering buying a WA600 just as ...
