Re: Tube Amps

I voted yes, but would be most interest in a 100 to 200W power amp. I already have a Monique preamp which I would be unlikely to ditch to move to this. But a decent valve power amp would be tempting for it. I have played Monique through the Fender 100W head and was tempted to go that way until magic...

Re: Bass Buddha interview with Jule Potter from Jule amps

Yeah great to hear from Jule. The product is not cheap but the quality is there. Also what doesn't show is the quality of service, both before purchasing and after. I bought mine with the Demeter Minnie power amp as it was before Jule was doing the M700 (now 2500 and 500 as well). Nothing wrong with...

Re: WTB Bergantino bass cabs

I have an NV412 I am now looking to sell.

Purchased second hand from Ozbass a few years ago.

Gigged quite a lot initially but now I have a lighter solution.

These are great basses - very versatile. And this is a great price.

Shows how slow the second hand market is. GLWTS

Re: Let's hear your band.

Lowgroove, that's a great video. Thanks - we won a band comp last year and put the winnings into a decent promo video. Hoping it may get us a few gigs. I see you also go with the 2 female vox - I find it draws attention away from the rest of us (in a good way). I really like that Simply Red track, ...

Re: Let's hear your band.

We have added some horns to our soul tribute band for larger gigs. I took the opportunity to record some live audio from a recent performance. Just some classic soul tunes. 2 Aretha tracks because the lead singer loves doing Aretha. https://soundcloud.com/lowgroove/respectst https://soundcloud.com/...

Re: FS: O'Neill 100w B-15 Clone - $1250 shipped

I used to own a Magnavox era v-4b, with the single volume control for each input, and it was certainly a different beast to this. I think mainly due to the preamp circuit and tubes. Having said that, I’ve got and old JAN-Philips 5751 in the pre section of this puppy which knocks off about 30% if th...

Re: In Ear Monitor system suggestions

I am in a similar position. I have been seriously considering the Sennheiser EW 300 G3. It comes with 2 receivers per head unit (and you can run separate mono mixes to each). I have seen it as low as $1250 on sale but seems to be just above $1500 now. However I have been wondering how the cheaper un...

Re: Ipad controlled digital mixing desks

I use a QSC Touchmix 16 on gigs we don't get paid enough to hire sound. It has the advantage of a screen on the desk as well. With the iPad I can see all 16 channels. Has 6 foldback mixes which is good when a lot of the band use in ears and want their own mix (they can control it themselves as well)...

Re: Who is obsessive about their coffee??

I wouldn't say obsessive but I do like my coffee. I started with a manual Krupps thermoblock 18 years ago which was basic but OK. It died about 7 years ago and I decided to go beyond the thermoblock and bought a Bezzera Domus Galatea (http://www.barazicoffeemachines.com.au/products/espresso-machines...

That'll work!

Great cabs those Bergs if your back will let you lug them around. I ran mine with a TTE500 once and it worked well for that.

How does it sound with the more modern sounding amp?

http://www.musicswopshop.com.au/SwoppyItems.aspx?search=fender+bass+avri Thanks - I saw that on line. Have any Melbourne people had a look at this - what condition is it in? Wish I saw this earlier.
